Meet the Screen Nutrition Team

Hi, I'm Kirsten Screen.

I’m a Registered & Licensed Dietitian (RD, LD), and I’ve been in the nutrition world for over 20 years.

A few words on my academic qualifications, because human nutrition is a complex science, and it’s important that you get your resources and support from someone trained and qualified in this field:

In 2001 I received my Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from the University of Florida, and went on to get my Master of Public Health in 2003, also at UF.
While completing my Dietetic Internship in Augusta, Georgia, I worked as a Personal Trainer & Certified Health Education Specialist before completing my national board exam to become a Registered Dietitian in 2004.

I have had a passion for improving everyday life, health, and performance potential through the power of nutrition since I was 17 years old.

I knew I’d be working in this field, in some form or fashion, helping other active humans feel at home in their body by showing them exactly how good it’s meant to be.

Every step I’ve taken in this field since then has been with this at its core.
In my professional career, I’ve worked with active populations of all walks of life. My clients have ranged from everyday gym athletes & weekend warriors like you and me, to Ironman triathletes, Boston marathoners, former competitive rowers, National Championship track & field athletes, State champion power lifters, football players, aspiring Olympic swimmers, and martial artists.

If you've got a body and you move it with purpose, chances are I've worked with someone just like you!

In my spare time I love spending time with my husband & 3 kids, and our doodle – who is the very best creature who’s ever lived (prove me wrong). I’m a runner myself and have done all distances from 5k to marathon (the half is my fav). I also love resistance training & have lifted since high school.

My nutrition philosophy is simple. I don’t believe in quick fixes or a number on the scale as a goal to supporting our bodies. Understanding how fuel affects everything you do, and then tailoring your nutrition to support the life you want to live takes time, and nutrition is never stagnant.

I believe the primary goal of nutrition coaching should be to support our bodies in all of the things we ask of them. From the daily family tasks to the once-in-a-lifetime competitions. From a camping trip with friends to a strength-building journey in the gym.

Our bodies are smart & know what to do. They can achieve amazing things and support all of our adventures, as long as we listen to them and take care of them. A lifetime of health begins & ends with the nutritional foundation we give our bodies.

In the end it comes down to this: Stop Doing Weird Sh*t & Learn to Fuel The Crap Out of Your Body.

Hi, I'm Rachel Leach.

I’m the other dietitian here at Screen Nutrition! I’m a Registered & Licensed Dietitian, powerlifter, doughnut enthusiast and people person. I have multiple years’ experience educating others on how to fuel optimally for their daily lives and athletic performance.

I received my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech (2016) in Human Nutrition and Exercise, where I fell in love with the connection between nutrition and athletic performance. I then went on to complete my Master’s in Nutrition at Appalachian State University (2019), where I found my love for the mountains and southern food!

I am passionate about empowering athletes, highly active individuals, and anyone who wants to improve their performance, energy levels, and overall quality of life.

My goal is to make your life easier by giving you the tools to figure out what your body needs, so you can go out there and crush your goals! I love coaching others to better understand their individual needs and take away the stress of not knowing how to properly fuel themselves. It’s a win if together we can figure out what’s best for you by creating sustainable habits that work within your individual lifestyle.

Outside of coaching you can find me perfecting my baking skills, trying to get a new PR in the gym, or exploring the local hiking trails.

Hi, I'm Liv Kinkade.

I’m Screen Nutrition’s newest dietitian coach! I am a Registered & Licensed
Dietitian (RD, LD), a career path I knew I wanted to pursue since I was fifteen
and competing on the national level in Olympic Weightlifting.
A mountain girl born-and-raised, I completed my undergraduate degree in
my hometown of Morgantown, WV at West Virginia University (2022). I stuck
around for a few more years to complete my Master’s in Nutritional & Food
Science and Dietetic Internship at WVU as well—go ‘Eers!
My background in weightlifting showed me all the many ways nutrition can
impact our performance, our mental health, and our overall function as
human beings. I now have over 5 years of experience working with athletes
on the casual, collegiate, and professional levels and I am incredibly
passionate about helping make nutrition “click” for YOU—in a way that
makes sense for your unique background, sport, life stage, and lived
experience.

I now reside in the DC-Maryland-VA area and spend most of my free time
reading, running, decompressing with hot yoga, or finding new adventures
for me and my best friend (read: dog), Lola, to get into. I’ll be your new
dietitian BFF if you let me, and I might even share my world’s best chocolate
chip cookie recipe with you while I’m at it.

Hi, I'm Alex Beesting.

I’m the Operations Manager here at Screen Nutrition & The Kirsten Screen, and I keep all things organized & make sure Kirsten doesn’t lose her mind! I handle a lot of the behind the scenes things that keep Screen Nutrition running smoothly, and you’ll see me in emails, groups, and really all over!

I went to the University of Florida for an Undergraduate Degree in Geography and completed my Masters Degree at Florida State University in Urban and Regional Planning. I chose to leave urban planning to focus on my small business passion. I love strategizing with Kirsten on the best way to add value our community!

For fun, I love to go on hikes, walk my puppy, and travel with my boyfriend. Fun fact: I’ve been to all 50 states!
